Franz Josef Glacier

NEW ZEALAND

From its origins high in the Southern Alps, the Franz Josef Glacier descends deep into the green and lush rainforest of Westland’s National Park on the West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island. Plunging from a height of 2700m above sea level to only 240m in 11 km, it is one of the world’s steepest and fastest-flowing glaciers.
